Wednesday's Wisdom

"Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy." Proverbs 31:8-9

Over and over again throughout the Bible, God talks about defending the oppressed, the poor, and the needy. Many of the prophets speak to Israel and other nations, telling them that they have failed in taking care of the poor. I would encourage you to always be ready to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Help the poor and the needy. There are innumerable ways to carry this out. I'm sure you can find at least some small way to help those who aren't as blessed as you are. Also, as you consider a career, think of jobs you could do that would benefit others. Your life will be richer for it, whether or not your bank account is.
