"This world is not my home. I'm just a passin' through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue." -Hymn
""For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal but the things which are not seen are eternal. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon our house which is in heaven."
II Cor 4:16-5:2
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the arch-angel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
I Thess 4:16-18
Today I want us to focus on how temporary this life is for us. This world isn't our home and we do have a home with Christ prepared for us if we believe in Him and are saved. It is too easy to get attached to this life we have and the people in it. But we know it is just temporary. This is not our forever home. We need to live our lives in such a way that will get us to the eternal home of Heaven.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
Rev 21:4
Heaven is our goal. Let's not lose sight of that.
