Football
games. Movies. Shopping. Fairs. Camp. Concerts. These are events we plan and
then look forward to. These events are something we should look forward to
because they are not wrong in and of themselves-they are fun and it is
wonderful to have (good, clean) fun times with our friends, but do we look to
Bible class, Bible studies and worship services with the same excitement and
anticipation? We should. We should be even more excited to be participants in activities
that praise our Lord!
Last
week, I encouraged you to get out of your comfort zone and be friendly. I
challenged you to mentally prepare yourself to be the one to walk up to that
visitor Sunday morning and welcome them to Bible class. I challenged you to
tell that sweet lady who is always sitting on the pew in front of you how much
you are encouraged just by her presence each week. Today, I challenge you to be
excited about going to worship tomorrow and every Sunday. I encourage you to
encourage your friends to be there for midweek Bible study. I challenge you to
be excited and let that excitement spill over into the lives of those you come
in contact with. It won’t be long before your congregation is buzzing with love
and excitement to assemble together to praise our Lord and Savior.
