Wednesday's Wisdom

“Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.” Proverbs 11:28

Things, things, things, things.  As Americans, we live in a very blessed country, and it’s so easy to get caught up in material things.  We want more, we want bigger, and we want better.  We think if we have this or that, our lives will be just right.  Or we think as long as we have X amount of money saved up, nothing can stop us or hurt us.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”  Matthew 6: 19-21

Don’t trust in riches on earth.  Store up your riches in heaven by following God’s will and serving others.  Where is your treasure?  Where is your heart?
